Kinetic hearts bang against bursting chests
boiling rage slips a little adrenaline into your bloodstream,
words like needles sting,
and "It's only for the best."
but it brings out the worst in you.

Your burning lips
mutter prayers for thunderstorms
or earthquakes.
Signs of the apocalypse waiting to swallow you in flames,
or bury you in stone.

Your disjointed misery
slips
    down
        slowly and is erased
                           replaced
                                  with rage.
If you were cut out of someone's life that you care about and they didn't care about you at all wouldn't you be angry?

I think you did a great job at conveying the emotion of rage or anger here! I could almost hear someone reading this poem out loud, their voices becoming louder and louder until they were yelling the second stanza, then quieting down to a hateful whisper at the end. That's just the image I got while reading.

My favourite line:
"It's only for the best."
but it brings out the worst in you.
